BOE readies for Aug. 2 primary election

EATON — Gearing up for the Tuesday, Aug. 2 primary election, the Preble County Board of Elections will begin a special meeting on Saturday, July 30, at 8 a.m. for the purpose of swearing-in the Aug. 2, 2022 primary election voting location managers at 9 a.m., and any business brought before the board. The board will continue this meeting on:

• Tuesday, Aug. 2, at 6:30 p.m. preceding the Aug. 2, 2022 primary election unofficial canvass, and

• Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 9 a.m. to begin the Aug. 2, 2022 primary election official canvass and any business brought before the board.

The board’s August regular meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 18, at 9 a.m. The Aug. 2, 2022 primary election official canvass will be completed at this meeting along with any business brought before the board.

All meetings will be held in the board’s office at 101 E. Main St., Eaton.

Candidates who will appear on the Aug. 2, primary election ballot in for Preble County voters include:

For 5th District State Central Committee

Republican, Man: Steve A. Bruns

Democrat, Man: David C. Cox

Republican, Woman: Jessica Franz or Mary Beth Kemmer

Democrat, Woman: Amy Cox or Leronda F. Jackson

For 5th District State Senator

Republican: Stephen A. Huffman

Democrat: No petition filed

For 40th District State Representative

Republican: Rodney Creech

Democrat: Amy Cox

Voters to select State Central Committee, senate, representative candidates
