National Trail recognizes students of the month, FFA Soil Team

NEW PARIS — The National Trail Local Schools Board of Education held its monthly meeting, Tuesday, Oct. 25, during which, board members recognized staff and students of the month, recognized the FFA Soils Team’s State qualification, and approved several resignations, trips and other business.

The students of the month for the elementary school were Kathleen Taylor-Hill, Vincent Ellison, Shaydin Brown, Hazlee Ewry, Harper DeMarcus and Darius Hughes.

The students of the month for middle school were AJ Byrd, Hyleigh Clark, Eli Wolfe-Swartsell, Logan Osswald, Leigha Denlinger, Brooke McMillan, Audrey Thomas, Henry Roberts, Colton Pratt, Tobi Miracle, Braxton Newman and Chloe Graves.

Students of the month for high school were Darius Taulbee, Jaleah Coffey, Larkin Minner, Jacob Farno.

The board recognized the FFA Soils Team’s State qualification and congratulated them on their success.

In other business:

• The board approved a steel band trip to Virgina Beach, Virginia, to perform at the International Pan Fest, May 11, 2023.

• The board accepted the resignation of high school English teacher, Chad Stebbins, as well as the resignations of Jerry Patrum and Cindy Doolin from girls basketball.

The next NT Board of Education meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m. There will be no meeting in the month of November.
