Eaton celebrates ‘White Christmas’

EATON — For over three decades, the annual White Christmas event in downtown Eaton has help kick off the holiday season in the city. On Small Business Saturday, Nov. 26, Hollingsworth-East Elementary second graders and the Eaton High School Marching Band and Color Guard helped escort Santa Claus to town, then performed for the crowd gathered for Downtown Eaton Inc.’s final event of 2022. DEI presented at $1,000 donation in support of this year’s Preble County Fraternal Order of Police Cops & Kids event. Two lucky second graders, Lucy Drake and Kristian Gray, received bicycles donated by local sponsors, and 6-year-old Gage Brown, who recently completed chemotherapy helped light the lights on the Preble County Courthouse plaza. Frontline Coffee served free hot chocolate to those in attendance, children could complete holiday arts and craft projects, and more. Sponsors for the White Christmas event included David Kirsch Ownerland Realty, Charles Family Hearth and Hot Tub, LCNB, the City of Eaton, Prodigy Salon and Spa, Frontline Coffee, Lawn Plus, NECCO, Roselius Insurance, Summit Chiropractic, Eaton Community Schools, Heritage Point Financial, the Preble County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Vancrest of Eaton, Freedom Title Company, Country Mile Realty, SVG Motors, Eaton Floor & Wall and Somerville Bank.
