Farmer’s Market

Come and support the WA Celebration Committee’s weekly Farmers’ Market every Thursday from 5-8 p.m., through September. We showcase local food and produce vendors, independent consultants and many local crafters who offer incredible deals! We also showcase local entertainment. Proceeds support the community with fireworks for July 4 and new toys for Santa Villa. To reserve a space, contact Carol Lunsford at 839-4085.

WA Fire/EMS BINGO

Set your calendars for September 8 as we start up our BINGO every Thursday from 5-9 p.m. once again. Doors open at 5p.m., BINGO calling starts at 6 p.m., come early get a good seat and start your luck with some pull offs. We have a new progressive pull tab game; Mr Karrot, is a 10-week progressive pull off, each week players get a chance to add their name to the board as an entry ticket. At the end of the 10 weeks, pending all tickets sell each week, we will pull the entry tickets and give away four $599 dollar winners, yes you read that right, so stop by and play and get your chance to win $599. All proceeds benefit the West Alexandria Firemens Association and Department. WA Fire/EMS are selling pavers for a donor/memorial walk-way to be built when the new Fire/EMS station is built. The pavers are $100 each. We are offering a paver with or without a clipart picture. Send us a message and we’ll email you a form or stop by the fire house on Monday nights. Church of the Brethren

The West Alex Church of the Brethren will have their Free Community Meal from 5-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 22 E Oak St. We would like to invite anyone to come for a great meal and fellowship on the first Wednesday of each month.

St. John Lutheran, Ingomar

Come Saturday, Sept. 10, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. for our Ice Cream Social and Bazaar, featuring homemade ice cream in vanilla, chocolate, lemon, strawberry and moosetracks, as well as sandwiches, salads, chicken and noodles, cakes and homemade pies. There will be unique items for sale at the bazaar, as well. Half of the proceeds support the missionary family and gospel message in Cyprus. The other half of proceeds will benefit a local nonprofit charity.

St. John Lutheran is air conditioned and handicap accessible and is located at 2139 Enterprise Road.

Our final Holden Prayer Around the Cross service will be held from 7-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14. This evening of prayer is held outside under the picnic shelter so we can end our day on a positive and peaceful note.

Salem Lutheran Church

Salem Lutheran Church will be providing a meal for the Homeless Shelter in Eaton on Aug. 29.

The women of the church are collecting bars of soap for Lutheran World Relief, and also school supplies to be given to the WA Foodbank.
