PFLAG plans panel discussion

OXFORD —Oxford Area PFLAG (Parents, Family, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) is hosting a panel discussion entitled “The Risks, Challenges & Vulnerabilities Experienced by the LGBTQ+ Community” during a community meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, at Oxford’s Senior Citizen center.

The panel will include Dan Stultz & Melissa Meyer of Safe & Supported of Lighthouse Youth Services, JA Carter (Visiting Professor) of Miami’s Department of Sociology & Gerontology, Janet Mallen (Senior Assistant Director) of Miami’s Student Success Center, Deborah Wiese (Clinical Faculty) of Miami’s Department of Psychology, and Carly Traynor (Class of 2017) of Miami’s Active Minds Student Organization.

Everyone welcome and encouraged to attend the panel. Oxford Area PFLAG is seeking new membership and involvement in the organization. The group meets every second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center.
