Church safety training set

EATON — Eaton Police Chief Chad DePew and Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson will present a church safety seminar on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Eaton High School cafeteria.

Church safety is an issue many churches are concerned about these days. Participants will learn ways to prepared and the best ways to respond to a critical incident, and how to react in the event of an active killer attack.

This is a free workshop and open to all pastors and church leaders, church security teams, ushers and greeters and those who are interested in this important topic. Coffee and donuts will be available.

This House of Worship Safety Training, sponsored by the Preble County Ministerial Association, will include topics like:

•How to increase the physical security of a church

•Increasing the safety of the congregation

•History and trends of violence in churches

•Response options to an active killer: how to protect one’s family, the church, and oneself during a church attack.
