November is ‘sew’crazy at Art Center

EATON — The PCAA recently announced sewing is now offered at the Visual Art Center of Preble County.

In addition to beginner sewing classes for adults and children which start Nov. 1, there are also two workshop for people interested in quilting.

Pam Geisel, an art-quilt maker from Yellow Springs, will be introducing the concept of art-quilting in an easy to do, easy to create way. Geisel take the mystery out of where to start and gives step-by-step instruction on how to jump right in.

The Quilt Postcard workshop on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m.-noon, is a simple, minimal experience-needed workshop that will result in a finished piece that can be sent in the mail. Cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. Materials are included but those who take part may bring their own fabric stash.

The full day Art Quilt Workshop on Nov. 5, does require sewing machine experience and will introduce techniques and materials that set new quilters up for success. This is a full-day workshop from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Participants should bring a lunch but snacks will be available. Cost of this workshop is $60 for members and $75 for non-members. Materials are provided but participants may bring their own.
