NEW PARIS — National Trail High School’s FFA chapter received a $500 donation from Brodbeck Seeds on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The chapter plans to use the donation to offset costs of leadership conferences.

National Trail FFA advisor Carmen Kennel saidthis donation will help send students to two leadership conferences in 2017. The conferences help students become better leaders in their FFA chapters today and instill in them the tools they need to be leaders in their communities and in the agriculture industry down the road.

The donation stems from a drawing at the Brodbeck Seeds booth during the 2016 Farm Science Review in London. Drawing winner Brandon Monebrake selected National Trail FFA to receive the donation. Monebrake is a former member of the chapter.

“The National Trail FFA chapter has been part of my life since I was in middle school. It’s great to be able to direct this donation to them as I know it will help develop future leaders and benefit our community as a result,” Monebrake said.

With 158 students, the National Trail FFA chapter includes approximately half of the high school’s students.
