Preble-Montgomery County Pond Clinic set

NEW PARIS — Mark your calendars for the upcoming Preble-Montgomery County Pond Clinic, to be hosted this year in Preble County.

To start the evening, hosts Norm Mull and Steve Vanzant will give a history of the pond and the farm where it is located. Ohio State University Pond Ecologist Eugene Braig will speak on aquatic vegetation control and will be available to answer pond management and fish stocking questions.

To wrap things up, BJ Price, Preble SWCD Administrator and Technician, will give guidance on new pond construction, repairs to existing ponds, and proper maintenance.

The Pond Clinic will be held on Thursday, June 2, at 5866 Rawley Rd, New Paris, OH 45347. Watch for road signs. A free picnic-style meal will begin at 5:30 p.m. The program will begin at 6 p.m. and conclude around 8 p.m.

The Pond Clinic, co-hosted by Preble and Montgomery SWCD, is free and open to everyone. Attendees should bring lawn chairs. Make it a family event, and bring the kids along. RSVP by Friday, May 27, by calling Preble SWCD at 937-456-5159.
