EATON — The Eaton MVCTC FFA Chapter attended State FFA Convention on May 5-6, held at the State Fairgrounds in Columbus.

Members were able to see and do many things at convention. There were five sessions, with speakers at each that truly followed the convention theme of “Amplify” by encouraging everyone to do more and make smart choices in their everyday lives.

FFA members were also able to see the state officers and many awards given to individuals and teams. The chapter is very proud to have been able to see so many of their own members go onto stage to receive an award during convention. One such member was Kate Bulach, who went to receive the Children’s Hospital Recognition award for the chapter, which they were awarded for raising money for the Children’s Hospital by holding a teacher dunk tank at a football game.

Earning their state degrees this year were Kristen Cottingim, Aaron Hendrich, and Drew Kahle. Aaron Hendrich placed second in the state for his Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Proficiency.

Also, Alyssa Orr, Shayla Campbell, and Blake Whitesell received the gold rating for their secretary’s, treasurer’s, and reporter’s books, respectively.

Katelyn Niehaus, Drew Kahle, Andrew Brooks, and Trent Broermann placed first in the state for the Agricultural Cooperatives Career Development Event.

Also, Debbie Davis and Emily Puckett sang in the State FFA Choir, and Alisha Rader played in the State FFA Band.

The chapter would like to say congratulations to all of these members for their hard work! Besides getting recognized for their accomplishments, the chapter was able to bond at state convention and be “Amplified” for another great year.

The Eaton MVCTC FFA Chapter was proudly represented at State FFA Convention by their adivisor, Rebecca Holbrook, their chaperone, Alan Karn, and 31 members.
