EATON — 1st Choice Hypnosis Center opened on Wednesday, April 1, in the Acton Building at 115 W. Main Street in Eaton. Owner Eva Wells is dedicated to helping others through various struggles using hypnosis. She says her services can help those with anxiety, stress, insomnia, stuttering, weight loss, smoking, migraines, and more.

Since her official opening, Wells has had a steady stream of customers interested in hypnosis. She is interested in helping the public with her services.

“I just have this deep desire to help people in any way that I can. Through a friend, I got associated with a hypnotics instructor, which got me interested in how everything works. Once I learned the techniques, I was like, sign me up! From there, anyone I can help, come see me,” she said.

“Hypnosis changes the way people think about things. It changes negatives into positives and removes struggles. A lot of people, especially with weight loss and smoking, they really struggle with giving that sort of thing up. By changing the way they think about it, it re-frames their mindset and they can easily walk away from it.”

Wells wanted to open her business in Eaton because it is close to home and a unique service to offer to the area.

“I know there are other businesses in the area who do mindfulness techniques and those sort of things, but I approach it from a different area. From what I understand, the others in the area work a lot with energetic healings and pass life regressions and that sort of things. I don’t,” she said.

“I work in the present time with present problems. Then, I use interviewing techniques and discussions to get to the root to what is causing the problem. We go directly to that, change the mind frame, to remove the struggle so they can get past it.”

She understands many people may be leery of hypnosis, but, according to Wells, that is due to misinformation.

“There are a lot of myths about hypnosis. A lot of people think it is mind control or they will lose consciousness and not know what is going on. None of that is true,” she said. “You are never out of control during the whole session you are in control. You will always be aware of what is going on. If at any time anything is said at all that goes against your morals, you will instantly wake up on your own.”

She is excited over the opening on her new business and looks forward to helping people and growing.
