LEWISBURG — Outer Limits Gym, located at 9745 Rockridge Rd. in Lewisburg, officially opened its doors for business on Saturday, Nov. 16. The business held a ribbon cutting with the Lewisburg Area Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, Nov. 23.
Owners Dale and Carrie Lunsford want Outer Limits Gym to be a welcoming space for people to grow and train together.
“We opened this gym for people to come change their lives – whether it is losing weight, getting stronger, just mentally growing,” Dale Lunsford said. “[The community] can come together, train together, and get in better shape.”
Both Dale and Carrie Lunsford were committed to their own fitness journey, actively competing in body building competitions, and decided to purchase additional equipment and open Outer Limits Gym.
While the Lunsford are experienced competitors themselves, they realize coming to a gym can be a nerve wracking experience for many and are ready to teach and guide beginners in their own journeys.
“This is a place to come to make yourself better. It is a little more private, if you’re worried about being around tons of people. A lot of people, when they come to a new gym that’s bigger, they feel a little intimidated,” Dale Lunsford said. “They just got to get in here and try it – I was like that when I first started!”
Carrie Lunsford added, “We will help them learn what workouts to do or whatever their goals are, to tailor it for them.”
“That is a big thing, people being nervous. Going somewhere where you’re not sure, you feel stupid if you don’t know what to do. You have to get in there, get that first workout in, and relieve the stress.”
