WEST ALEXANDRIA — Thirteen students from Twin Valley South High School were inducted into membership of the National Honor Society in a ceremony held in the high school auditorium on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

The students inducted included: Andrew Augspurger, Haley Back, Abby Beneke, Troy Bowers, Jared Cottingim, Autumn Daniel, Emma Fergus, Christine Kaylor, Matthew Landwehr, Jacob Moore, Sidney Vorhis, Madison Wright, Megan Wright

To be eligible for membership consideration, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.6. Additionally, potential members must meet high standards of leadership, service, and character. Members of the junior and senior classes were evaluated by the Faculty Council.

Leadership is based on the student’s participation in community or school activities, or election to an office. To meet the service requirement, the student must have been active in several service projects in the school and community. Character is measured in terms of integrity, behavior, ethics, and cooperation with both students and faculty.

This year students will be adopting a family for Christmas, organizing “Pasta for Pennies” to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and plan on volunteering at the new Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Eaton and school events such as the TVS graduation ceremony.
