Blue Star Moms ready to help

For all the Military Moms and Dads:

“The Silent Soldier”

I wear no uniform, no blues or greens. But I am in the military, in the ranks rarely seen. I have no rank upon my shoulder, Salute I do not give, but in the Military world is where I live. I am not in the chain of command, orders I do not get, but my son is the one who does, this I cannot forget. I am not the one who fires a weapon, who puts his life on the line, but my job is just as tough, because I am left behind. My son is a patriot, a brave filled man. And the call to serve his country, not at all I understand. Behind the lines, I see things needed to keep this country free. My son makes the sacrifice, but so do the rest of his family and me. I love the man I call my son, soldiering is his life, But I stand among the silent ranks known as a military mom.

Blue Star Mothers of America is looking for military moms and dads to join us. We provide support to our soldiers but also to each other. Our moms range from their kids just joining and leaving for basic to getting to their first duty station, to their first deployment or their fifth deployment — or leaving the service and becoming a veteran. We can help you maneuver through this new world your child has thrust you in. We will laugh with you or cry with you when you are scared about them leaving for far off lands. Military moms are a special kind of mom.

Please join us the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the YMCA in Eaton, We are looking for moms like you. If you have any questions please call me at 937-776-4346. I am a two-star Blue Star Mom with six deployments under my belt and number seven is just over the horizon.

We Blue Star Mothers of America, Oh 11 Echo 01, hope to hear from you.
