PREBLE COUNTY — The mission of Preble County General Health District is to promote and improve the good health and well-being of our children and adults who live and/or work within Preble County.

Our services include Vital Statistics, Plumbing, Private Sewage Treatment Systems, Private Water Systems, Nuisances, Animal Bites, Food Safety, Car Seat Program, Emergency Preparedness, Immunization Clinic, Bureau of Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH) and Women, Infant and Children (WIC).

Our revenue is from levies, grants and from the services we provide through permits, certificates, licenses and nursing services. We currently have two .3-mill levies. One levy is based on a tax valuation from 1976 and the other levy is based on tax valuation from 2001.

We are currently asking the community to pass a new .25-mill levy for the purpose of providing funds for the operation of the health district to continue providing services to our county.

If this new levy passes, we will sunset the 1976 levy and not renew it in the future. This would continue to provide us with two levies providing a tax valuation from 2001 and 2022.
