‘Buildings more important than people realize’

Regarding Issue 18, the building of two new schools for the Preble Shawnee Local School District: These buildings are more important than people realize.

It’s not just about brick, boards, and mortar. It’s about the future of many generations to come, and the opportunities that lay before them. It’s about 21st century education and investing in our children. It’s about sustainability. It’s about reshaping mind sets. It’s about infrastructure and technological advancement. It’s about relationships. It’s about student performance. It’s about health and safety. The people in this community are some of the best I’ve met. This community, its residents, and their children deserve this. I urge you to think past dollar signs.

I urge you to research the benefits of new schools and what they offer, not only to the students, but to the community as a whole.
