Writer: PCAA lease should be ‘honored’

I am an original member of the Preble County Art Association. I donated money for the building fund. I donated my time painting the interior several different times. I planted flowers by the entrance and weeded and trimmed them. I have entered many juried art and photography shows.

The PCAA was a working and caring group of men and women who wanted an art center. They worked with the county commissioners to reach our goal. The commissioners and members worked long hours together to reach our goal which was a permanent building for the art association. Everyone was pleased with the lease and it should be honored. I have photos of the ground breaking. Everyone was happy that we were starting an important step for Preble County.

We worked hard in coming up with our name and logo. We wanted to make sure it was for all the people of Preble County. So we agreed on Preble County Art Association — PCAA.

We always had large juried art and photography shows. We had a large juried art show at the Preble County Fair which hardly has very many entries now. We are sad we have lost so many great artists. Some have died and I do not know why so many no longer participate at the juried shows.
