My name is Ryan Vonderhaar, I am a third-year student at The Ohio State University studying Agricultural Communication.

I grew up just outside of Camden on my family’s diversified crop farm, Vonderhaar Farms. Being involved in 4-H was an important part of my growing up and along with my siblings, I spent most of my 4-H career in the All Star Livestock 4-H Club.

At this year’s Famous Preble County Fair it was impossible not to notice all of the improvements made to our fairgrounds. I served on the Preble County Junior Fair Board during my final years in 4-H and at the same time our county received a grant to fund the improvements of the fairgrounds.

I am writing this letter to The Register-Herald to express my thanks to David Wesler, a past Preble County commissioner, for fighting for our county and filing the proper forms to secure this money for our fair. Wesler was able to act quickly during that period of time to make sure our county received the valuable funds for the facelift and structure improvements to be implemented.

I would also like to thank the Preble County Senior Fair Board for following through on the work and the improvements that have made our fair so beautiful. It is because of people like David Wesler that our community can come together during the county fair every year and put on such a terrific event.
