Talawanda’s girls’ basketball team got off to a good on the season defeating Winton Woods on Monday, Nov. 28. The Lady Braves won 54-20, behind a 25-point performance from junior Addie Brown. Talawanda jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. They ended the first quarter with a 10-point advantage, 13-3, and stretched the advantage to 32-10 by halftime. Brown’s 25 points came on 7 of 12 shooting, including 3 of 4 from beyond the three-point line. She added eight points from the free throw line hitting 8 of 10. She also pulled down five rebounds and added two assists and two steals. Senior Hannah Hurst also scored in double-figures with 10 points and collected nine rebounds. Seniors Gabby Lindley and Emma Wright chipped in nine and seven points respectively. Katlynn Woodruff, senior had 12 rebounds to the team. The Lady Braves were scheduled to play at Fairfield High School on Wednesday, Nov. 30, and travel to Badin on Monday, Dec. 5.
