CAMDEN — Preble Shawnee’s baseball and softball teams learned their post-season opponents this past Sunday.

The softball team earned the No. 4 seed in the Division III, Dayton 2 sectional.

The Lady Arrows (14-5) recieved as first-round bye and will meet the winner of No. 2 seed Middletown Madison (14-7) and No. 12 Dayton Christian (2-12) on Wednesday, May 10. If Madison wins, Shawnee will play at Madison. If DC wins, the Arrows will be the host team. Madison and DC will play on Monday, May 8.

The bottom half of the bracket features No. 9 Dixie (3-17) playing No. 10 Jamestown Greeneview (9-10) in the first round, also on Monday, with the winner traveling to No. 3 Carlisle (13-5) on Wednesday.

The sectional final is scheduled for Monday, May 15.

Last week, the Lady Arrows went 3-0 picking up two wins over Northridge (10-0 and 14-2) and a win over Franklin (9-2). The softball team was scheduled to host Union County (Ind.) on Monday, May 1 and Tri-County North on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Shawnee will play Valley View, at home, then travel to Madison on Thursday to close out league play. The regular season comes to an end on Friday with a game at Arcanum.

The Arrows baseball team, now 7-11, earned the No. 14 seed in the Division III, Dayton 2 sectional and will play at No. 13 Brookville (5-12) on May, 8. The winner will meet either No. 8 Miami East (10-9) or No. 7 Greenon (11-9) in the second round on May 10. the seciton final is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17, at Northmont.

The upper bracket features No. 18 Dixie (4-13) against No. 15 National Trail (5-11) in the first round. The winner will meet No. 2 Carlisle (14-8) on May. 10.

Last week, Shawnee went 2-1 with a pair of wins over Northridge (13-2 and 15-6), before losing to Madison, 10-2, to close out the week.

The Arrows were scheduled to play Franklin-Monroe on Monday, May 1 and will host Valley View on Wednesday.
