VERSAILLES — National Trail finished seventh overall in the Cross County Conference golf tournament as Logan Petitt earned first team All-CCC honors at Stillwater Valley Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 17.

Petitt shot an 86 overall, including a stellar 39 on his back nine to place him in the top 13 of the CCC.

The Blazers shot a 370 on the day and were mere strokes away from finishing in the top five, losing out by just five shots.

“I continue to emphasize to the team the importance of consistency and course management and those are the things we see the top teams excel at,” said Trail head coach Kurt Bachman. “I am, for the most part, satisfied with the effort of our team.”

Isaac Plankenhorn finished with an 89 while Bryten Jones had a 96 and Dawson Ward had a 99.

Petitt, Plankenhorn and Jones are all juniors while Ward is only a freshman.

Also golfing for Trail was Jonathan Turner with a 106 and Chris Brubaker with a 105.

“I am looking forward to the upcoming sectionals and trying to prepare the team to be at their best for, what is to me, the most important event of the season,” said Bachman.

Trail will compete in the sectional tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at Turtle Creek golf course.
