EATON — Twin Valley South ran in the Eaton Invitational held Saturday, Sept. 19, at Ft. St. Clair. Madison Wright finished third in the race and Megan Wright cracked the top 15, coming in 12th place on the day.
Madison finished with a time of 19:45, just five seconds behind the second place runner from Seton Catholic. The winner of the race, Chloe Flora from Botkins, ran it in 19:00.
Megan Wright finished just over a minute behind her teammate, clocking a time of 20:48 on the rainy, wet course.
Grace Stewart, the third and final runner for South girls, finished 45th overall with a time of 23:28.
Covington won the girls race with 56 total points. Russia was second with 74 and Minster was third with 94.
On the boys end, Brandon Wright was the top finisher for the Panthers, coming in 46th overall and clocking a time of 19:12. Chris French was second for South, finishing 87th with a time of 22:14. Rounding out the top five for South were Gage Pollock was 99th with a time of 24:39, Matt Hemmelgarn was 104th with a time of 25:48, and Curtis Hittle was 110th with a time of 26:56.
Jack Weaver also ran for the Panthers, finishing 112th with a time of 28:44.
The boys finished 15 on the day, scoring 397 points. Russia won the event with 76 points while Botkins was in second with 78 and Minster was third with 102.
South will compete in the Preble County meet on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 4:30 p.m.
