NEW PARIS — Both the National Trail boys and girls cross country teams finished in third place, falling only to Covington and Miami East during the Cross County Conference championships held at Trail high school on Saturday, Oct. 17.

Madison Wright from Twin Valley South had the strongest finish in the county, placing second overall with a time of 18:49. Megan Wright was the only other girl runner form the area to place in the top 10, finishing tenth with a time of 19:58. Both also received first team All-CCC honors.

The Tri-County North girls finished eighth overall and South only brought three runners to the meet, so they were unable to compete as a team.

On the boys’ end, Adam Eyler from National Trail finished sixth overall with a time of 17:07 in the boys race. He was the highest county-finisher for area schools.

Eyler, along with Aidan Tomlin from Tri-County North both earned first team All-CCC honors. Tomlin finished 13th overall with a time of 17:28.
