PREBLE COUNTY — At least two of Preble County’s softball teams – and possibly a third – will get the chance to host first and second round sectional tournament games when the postseason gets under way next week.

Eaton (10-4) earned the No. 4 seed and will play in the Division II Dayton 3 sectional. The Eagles will open with a home game against No. 13 Oakwood (2-11) on Tuesday, May 8. If Eaton wins it will host No. 5 Fenwick (9-3) on Thursday. The sectional final is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15 against either No. 3 Tippecanoe (12-7) or No. 14 Bellmont (5-4).

In Division III, Preble Shawnee (8-7) is the No. 6 seed and will travel to No. 5 Carlisle on May 9, in the Dayton 2 bracket. The winner advances to the sectional final to be played against either No. 1 Madison (13-4), No. 8 Dixie (4-9) or No. 10 Northridge (2-11) on Monday, May 14.

In the Division III Northmont sectional, National Trail (8-4) is the No. 7 seed and received a first round bye. The Blazers will play at No. 3 Arcanum or host No. 8 Versailles on May 9, depending on the outcome of the Trojans and Tigers game, which is to be played on May 7.

In Division IV, Tri-County North (13-2) earned a first round bye and will host either No. 15 Tri-Village (3-10) or No. 18 Fairlawn (2-10) on Thursday, May 10. The winner of the North game will move on to the sectional final on Tuesday, May 15 and will play either No. 2 Bradford (15-2), No. 8 Southeastern (8-7) or No. 16 Catholic Central (3-8).

Twin Valley South (2-11) is the No. 20 seed and will travel to No. 10 Fort Loramie (8-10) for a first round game on May 8. The winner will meet No. 9 Covington (7-6) on May 10. The sectional final is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15 and against either No. 4 Mechanicsburg (10-3), No. 24 Cedarville (2-13) or No. 22 Dayton Christian (3-4).
