Arrows win second straight

CARLISLE — Preble Shawnee scored 17 fourth-quarter points to pull away from host Carlisle for a 27-7 win on Friday, Oct. 19.

The Arrows, winners of two straight, improved to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the Southwestern Buckeye League’s Buckeye Division with the win. They beat Dixie last week 42-0.

Shawnee, which never trailed, scored on an 8-yard pass from Jake Green to Byrce Singleton in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead.

Cody Clevenger added a 29-yard field goal in the second quarter to extend the lead to 10-0.

The Indians added a touchdown before the half to make it 10-7 and neither team scored in the third quarter.

In the fourth, Clevenger added a 22-yard field to make it 13-7.

Ben Hobbs scored on a 44-yard run for a 20-7 lead. Hobbs added another long score, this time 53-yards, to give the Arrows a 27-7 lead.

Hobbs carried the ball 21 times for 165 yards.

Austin Tutt had 13 carries for 62 yards as Shawnee rushed for 224 yards as a team.

Green completed 9-of-21 passes for 66 yards, with Tutt and Hobbs catching eight of those for 58 yards.

The Arrows will play their final regular season game of the season on Friday, Oct. 26, at Northridge.
