Eaton sweeps South, now 5-3

EATON —

Eaton lost the lead late in an 8-5 defeat to Bellbrook on Monday. The game was tied at four with Bellbrook batting in the top of the seventh, but the visitors scored four times in the inning.

Bellbrook took a 3-0 lead after the top of the first and led 4-1 heading to the bottom of the third. Eaton tallied three runs to tie the game.

Dawson Blaylock doubled scoring two runs in the inning.

Eaton totaled eight hits. Owen Baumann and Jordan Turner had multiple hits.

On Wednesday, Eaton jumped out to an early lead and knocked off host Brookville 7-2.

Eaton scored twice in the first, three more in the second and two more in the third to take a 7-1 lead.

Ryan Venable tossed a complete game with five strike outs.

Travis Pittman had two hits to lead the Eagles.

On Friday, Eaton suffered a 9-3 setback to Brookville.

The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 after two inning, but the Blue Devils scored nine times over the next two innings to take command. Brookville scored five runs in the third and added four more in the fourth.

Owen Baumann went 2-for-4 for Eaton with an RBI and a run scored.

The Eagles closed out the with a doubleheader sweep of host Twin Valley South.

Eaton won game one 6-2 and took the second game 26-0.

In game one, Eaton turned a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead with three runs in the fourth inning. The Eagles added two more in the seventh for the final margin.

Lee had two hits. Christian Reyna tossed five innings, allowing three hits.

In game two, Eaton scored 17 runs in the fourth inning.

Pittman had three hits and drove in three runs.

Turner added two hits and two RBI’s.

Venable added two hits.

Baumann was 4-for-5 with six RBI’s and Jared Lee added three hits, including a grand slam. He drove in six runs.

Tanner Hobbs pitched four innings, allowing just one hit.

Eaton (5-3, 3-3 SWBL) was scheduled to play Oakwood on Monday and at Oakwood on Wednesday. The Eagles will play Dayton Christian on Friday and at Kenton Ridge on Saturday.
