LEWISBURG — Tri-County North’s softball team had all cylinders firing on offense Tuesday, April 16, winning big over Ansonia 12-2
Tri-County North got on the board in the first inning when an Ansonia error allowed a run to score.
The Panthers scored four runs in the fifth inning, which included a grand slam by Riley Cruse.
Emily Norris got the start for North. She lasted 4.1 innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out seven.
In addition to Cruse’s home run, Taylor Green had a homer in the second inning.
For the game, North tallied 11 hits.
Lexi DeLong, Sydney Jackson, and Avery Shank all collected multiple hits. Jackson and DeLong each collected three hits.
Sydney Jackson was clutch at the plate with runners on base Thursday, driving in seven runs on three hits to lead North to a 15-3 win over Bethel. Jackson drove in runs with a 3-run homer in the first and also hit grand slam in the first, as the Panthers scored 10-runs in the inning. DeLong also homered in the inning.
Jackson got the start pitching and the win for North. She went five innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out ten.
North racked up 14 hits. Norris, Riley Cruse, Jackson, and DeLong all had multiple hits. Jackson, Cruse, and Norris all had three hits.
North (7-6) was scheduled to host Covington on Tuesday, April 23 and will play at Miami East on Thursday.
