NEW PARIS — Cody Webb recorded the third perfect game in National Trail baseball history on Thursday, April 18.

Webb struck out three as the Blazers beat Covington 14-0.

Trail moves its record to 10-3 and 8-1 in the CCC with the win.

National Trail got things started in the first inning when Travis Hunt grounded out, scoring a run after a lead off triple by Cameron Harrison.

The Blazers put up seven runs in the third inning.

National Trail’s big bats in the inning were from Cameron Harrison and Hunter Michael with singles, a home run by Peyton Lane, and an error on a ball put in play by Hunter Lee.

Trail totaled 13 hits in the game. Harrison, Lane, and Hunter Lindsey each had multiple hits, with Lane and Harrison leading the way with three each.

On Tuesday, Trail knocked off Bethel 12-1.

After the Bees took a 1-0 lead in the first, Trail tied the game in the second. The Blazers added three more runs in the fourth, three in the sixth and five more in the seventh.

In the fourth Cameron Harrison singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs and Travis Hunt singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

National Trail put up five runs in the seventh inning. Hunt, Peyton Lane, and Hunter Lindsey each had RBIs in the frame.

Harrison was credited with the victory for Trail. He surrendered one run (unearned) on two hits over five innings, striking out nine. Lee threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

National Trail racked up 17 hits on the day. Lee, Hunt, Harrison, Hunter Michael, Cody Webb, Austin Knapp, and Lane each managed multiple hits for National Trail Blazers. Hunt and Lee each managed three.

The Blazers were scheduled to play Miami East on Tuesday, April 23 and will visit Milton-Union on Friday, April 26.
