PREBLE COUNTY — The Cross County Conference recently honored nine county softball players and a coach.
National Trial, a regional semifinalist, had four players and its coach recognized by the conference.
Blazer coach Derek Lee was named CCC Co-Coach of the Year along with Rick Stone of Arcanum.
Earning first-team honors for Trail was Bobbi Jean Grimes and Skyler Ward. Makena Laird was a second-team selection and Gracie Jones earned Special Mention honors.
For Tri-County North, Riley Cruse and Taylor Green were named to the first-team. Sidney Jackson was a second-team pick and Lexi DeLong garnered Special Mention honors.
For Twin Valley South, Harley Cooke was a Special Mention pick.
First-team honors went to Sidney Artz (Arcanum), Kaylee Wilcox (Arcanum, Player of the Year), Liv Reittinger (Bethel), Emma Canan (Bradford), Austy Miller (Bradford), Makenzie Long (Covington), Brigetter Filbrun (Franklin-Monroe), Kyleigh Kirby (Miami East), Brooke Deeter (Newton), Marissa Deeter (Newton) and Erin Norman (Newton).
Earning second-team accolades were Trinity Henderson (Ansonia), Makayla Stover (Ansonia), Gracie Garno (Arcanum), Macey Hartman (Arcanum), Abby Fike (Bradford), Makenna Gostomsky (Convington), Morgan Studebaker (Covington), Chloe Peters (Franklin-Monroe), Sam Urban (Miami East), Taylor Collins (Mississinawa Valley), Mallory Dunlevy (Newton), Andi Bietry (Tri-Village) and Kelsie Wehr (Tri-Village).
Garnering special mention honors were Alyssa Noggler (Ansonia), Camille Pohl (Arcanum), Grace Anthony (Bethel), Elisa Martinez (Bradford), Allie Garman (Covington), Emma Hein (Franklin-Monroe), Abigail Covault (Miami East), Lindsay Johns (Mississinawa Valley), Ashlyn Deeter (Newton) and Breeann Lipps (Tri-Village).
Trail finished fourth in the CCC with a 9-3 record. Tri-County North was sixth with a 7-5 mark and Twin Valley South finished league play with an 0-12 record.
Arcanum was the conference champion with an 11-1 record. Bradford and Newton tied for second with 10-2 records.
