Neal, Williams each place third to lead PS at VV invite

GERMANTOWN —The Preble Shawnee wrestling team had a solid showing at the Valley View Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 9, as several of the area’s top programs competed in the event.

Alex Steele led the way for the Arrows, finishing in second place in the 285-pound weight class after he was pinned in the finals by Jac Beatty of Sydney.

Camron Neal also had a strong showing for the Arrows, as he defeated Cory Alspaugh of Valley View for third place in the 106-pound division.

Neal was one of three Arrows to finish third in their weight class. Kolton Dillon finished third in the 182-pound weight class, with a victory over Gabe Newburg of Northmont in his third place match-up.

Mason Williams took home third place in the 220-pound weight division with a pin over Chuck Saul of Northmont in the third place match.

Travis Tatum earned a fifth place finish in the 132- pound weight class by defeating Emanuel Kindred by a pin in the fifth place match.

Steven Carter also placed fifth for the Arrows in the 126-pound weight class.

Preble Shawnee finished in seventh place with 111 points, just three shy of the host team Valley View. Graham won the event with 343 points and Northmont was second with 194.5 points.
