Piranhas become USA Swim Team

EATON — The Preble County YMCA Piranhas have become a USA swimming team.

“We are excited to have the Preble County Piranhas recognized as a USA Swim Team. This will give our kids the opportunity to compete in very high level meets, and provide them with new goals to strive toward,” said Josh Haynes, the executive director of the YMCA.

Becoming a member of team USA means that the Piranhas will enjoy a multitude of benefits, according to the information provided by their organization:

The team will get access to extensive times database, top tips and training advice, and the opportunity to enter the nation’s most prestigious events.

Also according to a press release, the Piranhas will also receive six issues of USA Swimming’s Splash Magazine, the opportunity to qualify for and compete in USA Swimming sanctioned meets- Zones to Olympic Trials, eligibility to participate in local and national swimming camps, excess accident and liability insurance, and motivational programs such as Age Group Top 10 and Scholastic All-America.
