CLEVELAND — The Mid-American Conference has announced its 2015-16 Women’s Basketball Academic All-MAC squad.
For Miami, redshirt sophomore Megan Galloway, along with sophomores Kayla Brown, Molly McDonagh, Baleigh Reid and Ana Richter were named to the team. With five members, the RedHawks tied for the second most student-athletes among the league schools.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. Freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible for the honor.
All five student-athletes are now eligible for the MAC’s Distinguished Scholar Athlete award, which will be voted on by the MAC Faculty Athletic Reps at a later date.
