Gebhart leads Eaton past Trail, 5-0

NEW PARIS — Junior Emma Gebhart had three goals and added an assist to lead Eaton to a 5-0 win over host National Trail in girls soccer on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Eaton netted a pair of first half goals for a 2-0 lead.

The Eagles added three in the second half to cruise to the win.

Freshman Emilee Hargis chipped in with two goals of her own, while senior Morgan Imhoff had three assists. Freshman Lyla Barney also had an assist.

Eaton also picked up a 2-0 win over Greenville on Saturday, Sept. 3.

Barney and Gebhart scored for the Eagles, while assists went to Gebhart and sophomore Lilly Garcia.

Goalie Hannah Reddick recorded the shutout with five saves.

On Thursday, Sept. 1, Eaton suffered an 8-0 setback at Brookville in Southwestern Buckeye League play.

Eaton (2-3, 0-2 SWBL) is scheduled to play at Valley View on Thursday, Sept. 8.

Trail also fell to Dixie on Thursday, Sept. 1.

The Blazers fell behind 3-0 at halftime, but rallied to tie the game, only to fall short 4-3.

Hailey Henderson led the team with two goals, Harley Henderson added the final goal. Dixie scored late to regain to regain lead.

Trail goalie Josie Stiner had 15 saves.

The Blazers (1-5, 0-3 WOAC) are scheduled to host Preble Shawnee on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
