Shawnee now 9-0 after pair of wins

CAMDEN — Preble Shawnee’s volleyball team continued its unbeaten streak to begin the season.

With two wins last week the Arrows are now 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the Western Ohio Athletic Conference.

Shawnee beat Valley View in straight sets 25-19, 26-24, 29-27 on Tuesday, Sept. 6 in a non-league match up then defeated Franklin-Monroe 22-25, 25-17, 25-9, 25-11 on Thursday, Sept. 8 in a conference match.

On Monday, Sept. 12, the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association released its first state poll, and the Arrows are ranked 13th in Division III.

In the win over Valley View, Harlee Howard paced the Arrows with 12 kills and 18 digs. Cora Neihoff added 10 kills and eight digs.

Bella Agee had 34 assists, 14 digs and four aces. Korrie Woodard added 19 digs. Delaney Klapper and Liv Thompson each had 13 digs. Thompson also had eight kills.

Against F-M, Howard had 21 kills and 24 digs. Niehoff hammered home 10 kills. Woodard and Klapper had 16 and 15 digs respectively.

Thompson added nine kills and 22 digs.

Shawnee was scheduled to play National Trail on Tuesday, Sept. 13 and will host Tri-County North on Thursday in WOAC games. The Arrows are schedule to close out the week with a home match at home with Greeneview on Saturday.
