Eaton high school holds youth football camp

EATON — The Eaton Eagles football program recently hosted its annual football camp for youth who will be in grades three through eight.

A large number of campers participated in the daily activities. For four days, young kids learn the fundamentals of football, including passing techniques, long snapping, receiving, basic rules, and other training methods necessary to play the game.

But most of all, the camp is a chance to have fun for the kids and instructors participating.

The camp ran from June 6-June 9 at the Eaton High School football stadium. There were approximately 60 young athletes participating in this year’s summer activity.

“Overall, it’s been great so far. Couldn’t ask for better weather,” Eaton head coach Brad Davis said of this year’s camp. “The numbers are up from last year so we are very pleased with that. Kids are having fun, that’s the most important thing, we’re just trying to get them the basic fundamentals that we feel they will need once we get them at the varsity level and I think it’s working out well for everyone.”
