South volleyball now 3-0

WEST ALEXANDRIA — The Twin Valley South volleyball team continues to rack up wins this season, defeating Carlisle, 25-6, 25-10 and 25-16 on Saturday, Aug. 27, and beating Madison 25-11, 25-19, and 25-9 on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

Against Madison, Abby Beneke led all attackers with 15 kills, while Audrey Chesney had seven kills and two blocks. Delaney Adams chipped in four aces and 13 digs, and Mylan Crews dished out 23 assists.

In the game against Carlisle, TVS was led by Adams, who scored 24 points and had five aces. She was supported by Beneke with 10 kills and Claire Fergus who had eight kills. Chesney and Zoe Utsinger combined for nine kills. Crews had 16 assists and three kills from her setter position, while Madison Wright went 17 of 17 on serve receive.

“Each student athlete played her position and did the job assigned,” coach Leslie Roberts said. “When you can have consistency throughout the squad, you will have many positive outcomes.”

South, which beat Stivers in straight sets last week in the season-opener, is now 3-0.

On Tuesday, Aug. 30, the Panthers were scheduled to host Mississinawa Valley in Cross County Conference action. On Thursday, Sept. 1, they will travel to Franklin-Monroe.
