VERSAILLES — The National Trail boys golf team lost to Franklin-Monroe, 193-209, at Turtle Creek Golf Course on Wednesday, Aug. 31.
Isaac Plankenhorn shot a team-best 48 for the Blazers, and J. Bridenbaugh of F-M was the medalist for the match, shooting a 46.
On Thursday, Sept.1, the Blazers recovered from their loss and defeated Bethel at Cliffside Golf Course. The Blazers shot a season-best score of 168 to Bethel’s 185. National Trail senior Logan Petitt shot his best score of the season, carding a 37. He and Tyler Weinert of Bethel tied as medalists for the match.
Plankenhorn was second with a score of 39, followed by another NT senior, Bryten Jones, who shot a 42.
“I am very pleased with the progress this team has made during the season, and the leadership of this year’s seniors has been a significant factor in the success the team has had this year,” Blazer head coach Kurt Bachman said.
National Trail went 2-1 on the week in matches and now has an overall season record of 6-2.
