NT falls to MV in four

NEW PARIS — National Trail’s volleyball team was defeated in four sets by the visiting Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks in a hotly contested match at home.

After winning a close first set, on Tuesday, Sept. 6, NT lost momentum in the second set and couldn’t recover. They lost the match, 25-22, 27-29, 16-25, and 16-25.

Lexi Stiner led the Lady Blazers with five kills while Risa Griffin was perfect from the service line with 26 attempts and three aces. Defensively, Griffin also led the team with 17 digs.

The Blazers are now 1-6 overall and were scheduled to face off against Franklin-Monroe on Thursday, Sept.8, in a Cross County Conference match-up.

The Blazers are scheduled to play at tri-match at Milton-Union on Saturday.
