NT golf continues to improve

NEW PARIS — The National Trail High School boys golf team came back from the long Labor Day weekend in style, defeating Bradford High School, 181-221, at Highland Lakes Golf Course on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The win improved the Blazers’ record to 7-2 this season.

Trail was led by senior Logan Petitt, who was medalist for the match, shooting a 41. Senior Bryten Jones recorded the second best score for NT by carding a 44, followed by senior Brian Harrison who shot a 47.

The Railroaders were led by senior Alex Swabb, who shot a 42 for the match.

Over the Labor Day weekend, Trail placed 10th out of 19 teams at the Versailles Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 3. National Trail had four golfers shoot sub-100 scores, led by Petitt who shot a 91. Senior Isaac Plankenhorn and Jones shot 92 and 97 respectively. Sophomore Dawson Ward played well and carded a 98.

“The team continues to show improvement and consistency as our season begins to wind down,” coach Kurt Bachman said.

National Trail’s next match was scheduled at home on Thursday, Sept. 8, versus Tri-Village.
