EATON — The Eaton Lady Eagles soccer team dropped a home match to Oakwood, 2-1, on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

“Great game to watch, it was back and fourth for both teams the entire game,” said Eaton coach Michael Bacher.

Oakwood struck first midway through the first half for a 1-0 lead. The defense was solid for Eaton throughout the game, as the back line and goalie made several saves for the Lady Eagles.

Sophomore Emily Dungan was fouled in the box on a through-ball. Dungan was able to take advantage of the opportunity, finishing the penalty kick and tying the game up at 1-1.

But Oakwood found the goal again with 16 minutes left in the game. One last opportunity for the Eagles arose when senior Hallie Wilt narrowly missed a put-back shot. But, Oakwood was able to hold its lead to win the game.

Eaton (2-9 overall, 2-6 SWBL) was scheduled to play next on Thursday, Sept. 29, at Brookville.
