LEWISBURG — The Tri-County North girls soccer team hosted Carlisle in a tough match which ended in a 3-3 tie for the non-conference foes on Monday, Oct. 3.

TCN Junior Hailey Thies assisted Megan Hemp for the Lady Panthers’ first goal early in the first half, for a 1-0 lead. After multiple shots on goal, each team was only able to score one each before the halftime break, leaving the score 1-1.

The Panthers came out much stronger in the second half, as Thies scored the second goal just 50 seconds in to regain the lead for the Lady Panthers.

North followed up with another quick strike by Thies to make the score 3-1. Despite a great effort by the Panthers’ defense and goalie Morgan Helman, Carlisle scored two more times before the end of the game.

“They played a great game tonight,” said TCN coach Clint Daugherty. “This was a good, strong team and it was a very close game.”

On Thursday, Oct. 6, North traveled to Newton for a Cross County Conference match-up. Next week they finish up the final two games of the season with a trip on Monday, Oct. 10, to Twin Valley South, and Senior Night on Thursday, Oct. 13, at home against National Trail.
