COVINGTON — National Trail’s volleyball team lost to host Covington in straight sets, 25-8, 25-20, 25-8, on Tuesday, Oct. 4, in a Cross County Conference match.

Defensively, the Lady Blazers had 30 digs, with sophomore Risa Griffin leading the team with eight. Offensively, NT was led by senior Shania Jordan with two kills, and Ariel Lee, Lexi Stiner and Abby Sullivan each had one ace.

“We are struggling offensively. We will continue to work hard in practice to make ourselves better volleyball players,” said NT coach Joy Yeazel. “The girls played a good second set with the score tied at 18-18, we just cannot seem to sustain scoring drives. We play a tough Union County team on Thursday and we need to be ready to play serious volleyball.”

National Trail is now 4-12 overall and 1-9 in the CCC.
