NEW PARIS — The National Trail girls soccer team fell to Dayton Christian, 3-0, Thursday evening, Oct. 6.

“I am pleased with my girls tonight. Everyone played hard, stayed focused, and they were able to compete with a very good team. The girls started strong and finished strong and that is what I asked them to do. They have come a long way this season and I am very proud of them,” said National Trail coach Lisa McCloskey.

According to McCloskey, the Lady Blazers played well defensively in the first half and held Dayton Christian to one goal. In the second half, the Blazers got its offense going with Rachel Ray having two shots on goal. However, Dayton Christian was able to score two unanswered goals to end the game in a shut out.

Trail keeper, Sophie McCloskey, had 20 saves for the night.

Trail, now 4-7-3 on the season, was scheduled to play Stivers on Monday, Oct. 10, and close out the regular season with a road trip to Tri-County North on Thursday.
