WEST ALEXANDRIA — Twin Valley South’s girls soccer team played rival Tri-County North to a 1-1 tie on Monday, Oct. 10.

“Tonight’s game we played extremely hard,” said South coach Dustin Zimmer. “Senior captain Abby Creech and senior captain Sophie Cottingim took control of the defense and made it very difficult for North to get into a rhythm, let alone get very few shots off on goal.”

The only goal for South came off a Creech corner kick, with Ava Watts and Mikaela Meyer distracting the defense and goalie, causing an own goal.

The final game of the regular season for South, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 13, against Bethel, will be senior night for Twin Valley South. South was 3-8-2 going into Thursday’s game.

Next week they will play in the Division III Dayton 4 sectional tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 18, against Legacy Christian Academy.
