VERSAILLES — Twin Valley South, in its first year back on the greens, returned to the golf scene with huge drive from the tee box.

Freshman Nathan Osborn was awarded the Cross County Conference Player of the Year award and finished second overall with a score of 75 at the CCC during the conference tournament at Stillwater Valley Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 17.

“It’s hard to put into words how I feel about what (Osborn) has accomplished this season,” said TVS head coach Darcy Robinson. “Every win that he’s achieved this season and any recognition that has come from that success has been earned through hours upon hours upon hours of work. He is such a phenomenal player skill-wise, but also plays very intelligently.”

Osborn has made a name for himself on the course by being very efficient in his game.

“I’ve seen him play out of near impossible situations, only to pop the ball right up next to the pin, all season long. He did the same thing (on Thursday) as well,” said Robinson.

Winston Crosier, who shot an 81 on the day, was also named first team All-CCC as South finished the day ninth overall.

“I’m especially proud of (Crosier) for playing an outstanding round. This is his first year of playing competitive golf, even though he is a senior. He’s worked hard all season long to arrive at this point today. He is so deserving of this honor,” said Robinson.

Also golfing for South was Levi Klips, who shot a 111, Jayden Bassler with a 118, Chance Parks with a 120, and Connor Bradley with a 127

“I’m very proud of all my guys for coming out and playing the best that they could play, on a very crowded golf,” said Robinson. “I hope that today has done a lot to prepare us for the upcoming sectional tournament. I think we’re beginning to peak at just the right time.”

Four out of South’s six players are freshmen as well. The future is looking bright for Panther golf.

The Panthers will head into the sectional tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at Beechwood Golf Course.
