CANTON — TimkenSteel Corporation (NYSE: TMST, www.timkensteel.com) announced last week that John Liddy has been promoted to plant manager of the company’s St. Clair facility located in Eaton.

“John has been a member of our St. Clair team for more than 20 years and understands the people and operations, as well as the value they bring to our company, customers and the Preble County community,” said William Bryan, TimkenSteel’s executive vice president of manufacturing & supply chain. “We’re pleased to promote him to this well-deserved leadership role as the facility kicks of its 25th year in operation.”

Liddy, who joined TimkenSteel in 1995 and the St. Clair facility a year later, has held several management roles in the engineering and maintenance departments. His most recent position was operations manager.

Liddy replaces Jeremy Linder, who served as plant manager since 2014, and has been promoted to a new role within TimkenSteel’s Canton steelmaking operations. The transition will occur over the next few months.

Liddy received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from The Ohio State University.

Liddy lives in Eaton with his wife Kelly and five children. In addition to serving as an advisory board member of Project Lead the Way, he also volunteers as an official for the Preble County Stingrays each summer and as an announcer for the Eaton High School swim team.

“I’m proud to continue working with the talented the St. Clair team as we bring our most recent expansion online,” said John Liddy, plant manager of TimkenSteel’s St. Clair plant. “It’s an exciting time for the entire facility.”

TimkenSteel’s St. Clair facility provides precision steel components to automotive and industrial customers. The operation currently employs nearly 100 employees, and will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2018.
