Winter weather took the area by storm Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 11-12, with snow covered roads and colder temps closing schools and making it difficult for drivers. Preble County was on a Level 1 snow emergency for some time. Road crews were out in force. This week, Monday morning was met with wind chill advisories, making it bitterly cold for anyone venturing outside. Luckily, the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday kept most school children at home and out of the cold. Additional snow fall was forecast for later this week at press time.
