MVCTC National Technical Honor Society induction held

ENGLEWOOD — Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) inducted 60 students into National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) on Sunday, March 20. The NTHS students, as well as their honored educators from MVCTC and their partner school district, were recognized in a ceremony at MVCTC in front of family and friends.

Students are selected for NTHS based on the following requirements: a 3.75-grade point average or higher, 97 percent attendance, passed all parts of the Ohio Graduation Test and instructor recommendations. Each of the 2016 inductees is the recipient of a $500 scholarship made possible by the MVCTC Education Foundation.

• Cameron Bayer (Tri-County North) enrolled in the Electrical Trades program at MVCTC chose to honor as his most significant educators, Brenda Wheat (Math Instructor) and his mother, Lora Bayer. Cameron is the son of Gary and Lora Bayer of Brookville.

• Savannah Benge (Eaton) enrolled in the Health Careers Academy program at MVCTC chose to honor as her most significant educators, Tonya Wiltshire (Health Careers Academy Instructor) and Patricia Huehn from Eaton. Savannah is the daughter of Mike and Marissa Benge of Eaton.

• Austin Brewer (Preble Shawnee) enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at MVCTC chose to honor as his most significant educators, Jeff Toms (Science Instructor) and Deannah Reece from Preble Shawnee. Austin is the son of Jason and Wendy Brewer of West Alexandria.

• Austin Dougherty (Preble Shawnee) enrolled in the Graphic Commercial Art program at MVCTC chose to honor as his most significant educators, Lisa Hetzer (Graphic Commercial Art Instructor) and Dean Geisel from Preble Shawnee. Austin is the son of Chance and Amy Dougherty of Camden.

• Madeline Durham (Eaton) enrolled in the Dental Assistant program at MVCTC chose to honor as her most significant educators, Abigail Hartman (Dental Assistant Instructor) and her mother Nancy Durham. Madeline is the daughter of Phil and Nancy Durham of Eaton.

• Jacob Huddleson (Twin Valley South) enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance Technician program at MVCTC chose to honor as his most significant educators, Eric Bickel (Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor) and his mother Lori Huddleson. Jacob is the son of Lee Huddleson and Lori Huddleson of West Alexandria.

• Anthony Jacobs (Tri-County North) enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at MVCTC chose to honor as his most significant educators, Lisa Werbrich (English Instructor) and Ben Williams from Tri-County North. Anthony is the son of Chance and Amanda Jacobs of Lewisburg.

• Jessica Koker (Tri-County North) enrolled in the Veterinary Science program at MVCTC chose to honor as her most significant educators, Beth Hughes (English Instructor) and Dodi Finnigan from Tri-County North. Jessica is the daughter of Scott and Michelle Koker of Brookville.

• Lauren Lee (Tri-County North) enrolled in the Dental Assistant program at MVCTC chose to honor as her most significant educators, Abigail Hartman (Dental Assistant Instructor) and Beth Hough from Tri-County North. Lauren is the daughter of Stacy Peterson of Brookville.

• Kai Aidan Manley (Eaton) enrolled in the Air Force Junior ROTC program at MVCTC chose to honor as his most significant educators, Colonel Dale Berger & Sgt. Frank Definbaugh (Air Force Junior ROTC Instructors). Kai Aidan is the son of Michael Manley of Richmond and Stephanie Cox of Eaton.

• Lauren Muncy (Eaton) enrolled in the Veterinary Science program at MVCTC chose to honor as her most significant educators, Beth Hughes (English Instructor) and Tonna Ditmer from Eaton. Lauren is the daughter of Jeff and Julie Muncy of College Corner.

• Jordan Puckett (Eaton) enrolled in the Game Programming & Web Application program at MVCTC chose to honor as her most significant educators, Melissa Goodall (Game Programming & Web Application Instructor) and Gina Melling from Eaton. Jordan is the daughter of Joseph and Casey Puckett of Eaton.

• Luke Stoner (Twin Valley South) enrolled in the Construction Carpentry program at MVCTC chose to honor as his most significant educators, Kelly Kramer (Construction Carpentry Instructor) and Brandon Moore from Twin Valley South. Luke is the son of Thomas and Anita Stoner of West Alexandria.

• Gabriel Van Houten (Preble Shawnee) enrolled in the Construction Carpentry program at MVCTC chose to honor as his most significant educators, Kelly Kramer (Construction Carpentry Instructor) and Shelley Dougherty from Preble Shawnee. Gabriel is the son of Arthur and Lise Van Houten of Germantown.

• Parker Wilken (Eaton) enrolled in the Sports Medicine program at MVCTC chose to honor as his most significant educators, Matt Money (Sports Medicine Instructor) and Jennifer Cross from Eaton. Parker is the son of Scot and Joni Wilken of Eaton.

• Jordan Willsey (Eaton) enrolled in the Veterinary Science program at MVCTC chose to honor as her most significant educators, Dr. Christa Nealeigh (Veterinary Science Instructor) and Amy Kochensparger from Eaton. Jordan is the daughter of Bill and Jodi Willsey of Camden.
