Camden resident takes first place in Humorous Speech Contests, advances to division contest

OXFORD — Oxford Toastmasters Club extends congratulations to member, Karen Moss who won first place in the Humorous Speech Contest at the Area 54 Competition held in September at Cincinnati Financial in Fairfield. Moss advanced to the Area contest after winning first place in her Club earlier in September.

Moss’s trophy-winning presentation “Traveling With Treva” entertained the audience with a brief speech about the first time she traveled to a conference with a fellow Toastmaster.

Moss is a resident of Camden and works at Miami University. She has been a member of Oxford Toastmasters since April 2015 and served as Vice President for Public Relations during 2015-16. She is pursuing certificates in the Competent Communicator and Competent Leader programs which she hopes to earn by the end of the year.

Moss will compete in the Division contest which was scheduled for Oct. 29 at Kroger Blue Ash Technical Center. Winners of the Division Level will progress to the final contest to be held at the District 40 Toastmasters conference in Charleston, West Virginia on Nov. 19.
