Eaton’s Jennifer Baker makes milestone donation

EATON — Congratulations are in order for Eaton donor Jennifer Baker who made her milestone 100th lifetime blood donation Thursday, May 28, at the Church of the Brethren Community Blood Center (CBC) blood drive.

“I started when I was 17 at Northmont High School,” she said. Northmont hosted CBC’s first high school blood drive in 1980, earned national recognition for youth donors, and inspired the growth of the CBC high school blood drive program. But Jennifer is a ’93 graduate of Northmont, and it’s surprising to see her reach the 100 donation milestone at an early age.

“My mom and dad are regular donors, they donate very two months,” she said. Jennifer donated often at the downtown Dayton CBC before getting married and starting a family in Eaton. “I have two kids, so I had little breaks when I couldn’t’ donate, but after that I get back on schedule again. It’s not hurting me to spend an hour of my time to donate, and it’s helping other people.”
